Concept
Tension Field translates architectural principles into wearable form. Using computational methods to map stress distributions, the project creates garments where structure and aesthetics are unified through the visualization of forces.
Process
Using finite element analysis tools, stress distributions across complex 3D forms were calculated and visualized. These maps informed the parametric design of variable-density knit structures.
